You have guessed right - we are going to Nepal 🏔️ This small country in between the world's most populous nations of China and India has managed to save its characteristic national indentity and culture. Just give it a look to Nepal's flag - it is the only one in the world not in a regular quadrilateral shape, but consists of two triangles which are said to represent Hinduism and Buddhism, as well as the Himalayan mountains. 🇳🇵Hinduism and Buddhism are two main religions in this country too, and it is considered that Buddha's original birthplace, Lumbini, is located in Nepal. Cow is a sacred animal here, not allowed to be killed and protected by law, so they often roam the streets freely 🐮 Once a cow stops providing milk they are often released and the community is responsible for feeding her. Cows roam all over Nepal, even in the busy city of Kathmandu, which is Nepal's capital. Additionally, the abominable snowman, also known as Yeti, is a legendary apelike creature that is believed to frequent the high valleys of Nepal as well. Interested fact about Nepal would perhaps be that marijuana plants grow in gardens, on the side of the road, in ditches, on mountainsides, pretty much everywhere in Nepal. It’s… well, a weed! 🌱 Oh, and don't be surprised by their calendar, it is year 2072 in Nepal. They celebrate the new year on April 13th 🗓️ Another odd fact would be that about 90% of marriages in Nepal are arranged and the bride and groom will usually not meet or see each other before the wedding day. Although, ‘love’ marriages (choosing your own partner) are becoming slightly more popular nowadays 💞92,1% of Nepals energy comes from the hydroelectric plants, and the rest is extracted from the fossil fuels. The highest mountain in the world - Mount Everest, that is, its Nepali name Sagarmatha means "Forehead of the Sky", and it is 8848m high.
