Byteking 50 #2 Posted June 24, 2019 Bitcoin is the first implementation of a concept called "cryptocurrency", which was first described in 1998 by Wei Dai on the cypherpunks mailing list, suggesting the idea of a new form of money that uses cryptography to control its creation and transactions, rather than a central authority. that was copy-paste. Kate 281 #3 Posted June 24, 2019 So basically it was a person who came to know about bitcoin and decided to call it bitcoin ? Well that is not an interesting story cause i thought there might be something more but still thanks
williamsh 350 #4 Posted June 24, 2019 Hmm, interesting to think about who came up with these words. I've never thought about it. I think the word crypto is not new, but only recently has it become associated with coins (in the last 5 years or so), at least from what I've experienced. rembo2 269 #5 Posted June 24, 2019 The word crypto is something hidden or secret, or some sort of encryption as the dictionary says. And this word is quite old. It is now his steel used electronic currencies. But the exact origins of the word are unknown.

sheenaz.bay 442 #12 Posted July 1, 2019 I'm not sure Satoshi Nakamoto found the word cryptocurrency, but I also can't confirm who said cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency consists of 2 words, namely crypto which means secret and currency which means money. Simply put, we can interpret cryptocurrency as a virtual currency technology which uses cryptographic systems to secure transactions. Unlike the currency that we use every day, cryptocurrency has no physical form because it exists in the virtual world and is digital.
Eminx3 126 #13 Posted July 2, 2019 after thinking about it more, i think its like one of those things that just came out naturally... the merging of the two words cryptology and currency, which when the two married gave birth naturally to cryptocurrency, but then again... that isnt the actual question i guess being asked... crypto is short for cryptology i think, but in this thread i think the idea was to refer to crypto-currency. i dont think it is an official word in the oxford dictionary yet, is it? Maybe from the world currencies as we know it since they are all centralized. Meaning that's an escape for the decentralization from the crypto currencies as well

What do you guys think who was the creator of this word crypto ? according to my knowledge satoshi nakamoto only created bitcoin. while the other coin-coins are different creators ... cryptocurrency is a connection of several coins after bitcoin appears and bitcoin is one of the cryptocoin. or you can say the parent is crytocoin. like the one who created the crypto sentence itself, it's a question that needs an answer ... And that's what I still think about ... the problem is I don't know who the person is

samelinda 0 #17 Posted August 7, 2019 There are many stories about the origin of the word "crypto" but so far there is no suitable story for me to believe that they named the tokens generally as crypto. But I think it might be Satoshi Nakamoto
zerowing 0 #18 Posted August 24, 2019 I think that the father of Bitcoin is Satoshi Nakamoto. Creator of word crypto I don't know. Maybe it is still Satoshi Nakamoto
nitch 1 #19 Posted August 24, 2019 hmmm, it's quite interesting when we talk about this because now the father of e-money is thought to be Satoshi Nakamoto and some people think it's not that I think it's a matter worth discussing. ...
Chikou1306 187 #20 Posted October 5, 2019 no one really knows who did creat the crypto currencies, some say satoshi nakamoto presented his researching paper in 2009 about the bitcoin, some say satoshi nakamoto is a rumour and he doesnt really exist since he never appeared to public, and others say NSA created the cryptocurrency... we really do not know who created that, but everything can be possible. I have not heard that story. Isn't crypto starting from a big businessman from Japan. whether in fact before crypto has existed?
nolep 165 #23 Posted January 6, 2020 I think the word cryptocurrency more existed first before bitcoin existed because bitcoin was under cryptocurrency and I suspect that crypto is the word for defining online coins on the internet.
