Kate 281 #1 Posted June 22, 2019 Ransomware attack a deadly attack which we all know because these virus attacks attack the important data of us or a company which is crucial for the company to run so i am here to help you avoid these ransomware attacks that might occur to you somehow along the way. They ask bitcoin in return for unlocking your data which is worst. There are two ways how these attacks happen and they are well known. One is through Email - So any weird email you get that says download this download that dont do it cause it probably is one of these attack The other one is by downloading movie files but downloads something else - This happens when you try to download a movie but the ads take you to some weird page and makes you download a file imeediately cancel the file dont download those ones. Hope this helps you guys somehow and prevents attacks from these. Also has anyone ever been attacked by these ? 1 Bimfo reacted to this
Bimfo 156 #2 Posted June 22, 2019 I have never fell for the 1st type of ransomware you mentioned, but I have fell for the 2nd one and it always causes one problems or the other. I even have an affected phone because of those other files that gets downloaded instead of my movie files. It is so annoying.
rembo2 269 #3 Posted June 22, 2019 If you do not read letters from unknown and do not download unknown files and you have a good antivirus, you have absolutely nothing to fear and worry about. This is something that will save your data and save you from scammers. I observe this for a long time and nobody tries to demand anything from me.

Oh sad to hear that you have fallen for it but let me ask did you pay to get your data back or you didnt ? And also how did you contact them ? Hope this stops forever
williamsh 353 #5 Posted June 22, 2019 Most ransomware attacks happen from people recklessly opening files. Some ransomware are so new that antivirus software can't always detect it. I think education about opening files is the most important thing you can use to prevent it.

I have to find a way to delete everything on the phone, and maybe my google drive or my back up drive will help me get some information back.
Eminx3 126 #7 Posted June 23, 2019 i heard if you are a victim of such attack, it is very important NOT to turn off or reset your device when this happens, as the program usually only starts to "Encrypt" the files after there is a reboot... but i dont know exactly 100% just something i read about and watched a quick documentary about. but anyone know more about this specific reboot and encryption thing? Install an adblocker on your browser, get a proper antivirus if you are using Windows device or switch to Linux if you want. These are basics to keep any sort of malware out which are important rather than pondering over the encryption.
Kate 281 #9 Posted June 23, 2019 It is actually true because when you go to reboot all you safety systems also reebot at the same time you're computer defenses also reboot so it makes ur easier for them.

There is nothing you can do. Format your device and built it from scratch again. Make sure you do something preventive this time though.
Dboyeric 249 #12 Posted June 23, 2019 We are having almost new virus everyday all because of crypto currency theft. I hope antivirus companies are able to keep with all these attacks from hackers
sheenaz.bay 442 #13 Posted June 23, 2019 I have never experienced it and hopefully it never happened to me, because the result is fatal: the computers attacked will be locked. The data inside is encrypted so that it cannot be accessed.
