The one that was the main chain and what Satoshi Nakamoto created was the one known as bitcoin denoted by BTC. That is for the context of differentiating from other bitcoin "copycats" is known as bitcoin core. Bitcoin cash was the one what was not going to follow segwit - because Rog Ver knew that segwit would reduce their profit from mining and thus created BCH and told people by lying that it was the real bitcoin. That was a blatant lie. Craig Wright introduced Bitcoin cash Satoshi's Vision was another fork in the BCH chain and it also not the real bitcoin. I would suggest people to read the bitcoin whitepaper and then decide what coin to invest in. Bitcoin by itself supports decentralization while BCH forked coins are totally centralized. Which means one fine day RogVer or Craig could sell off all the coins that you own and cash out and run away themselves. However that is pretty longshot. Still BTC is the real bitcoin and rest are all copycats. 1 1 bigbrankx and Kurian reacted to this
bitccrawf 0 #3 Posted December 28, 2018 Bitcoin Core is a software that works as bitcoin node implementation. It was called bitcoin core to distinguish it from the bitcoin’s network. But it’s not correct to call bitcoin as bitcoin core. Bitcoin has only one version created by Satoshi. But then arose the disputes among team developers regarding further development of bitcoin network that led to a split. As a result appeared Bitcoin Cash hard fork that claimed to be a better or true bitcoin. However, it is not. And Bitcoin SV is another hard fork in the bitcoin cash chain which is also not a real bitcoin. BCH and BSV are copies of bitcoin with some changes in the protocol. Bitcoin Core is the main BTC. Anything else would be labeled differently such as Bitcoin Cash. But yes, to answer your question Bitcoin core = BTC. Kate 281 #5 Posted January 7, 2019 Yes it is the same as Bitcoin. People call Bitcoin as Bitcoin core since Bitcoin Cash was released just to not get it confused with each other. But in simple terms Bitcoin is Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash is the coin itself ! 1 dogebot reacted to this
dogebot 15 #6 Posted January 21, 2019 i think that yes becaucse core is a simple way to make difference into bt cash and bt coin only so bitcoim cash is a same to bitcoin cause other sites same to coinpot call bitcoin "BITCOIN CORE "
williamsh 365 #7 Posted February 18, 2019 I think the "versions" you are referring to are the forks that occurs on the blockchain. If you do a google search for bitcoin forks, you will be able to see all the past forks that have happened
