oodlecoins 6 #4 Posted May 31, 2017 you focus on what you HAVE vs. what you DON'T have. you focus on your STRENGTHS not your WEAknesses. you occupy your time with things you enjoy, cooking, reading, exercising, spending time with family etc. you remind yourself that you're STRONGER than how you FEEL. you remind yourself that EVERYone feels like this at times, and no matter what the reason, you're equipped to mentally handle whatever hand your dealt, and that eventually, whatever you endure, will be a memory that made you stronger and wiser. 2 Stefan and alexel reacted to this

Jenn09 118 #10 Posted June 17, 2017 First pray that God will help you on your problem. Second think about your family & the other things that might uplift your mind & your desire to live. 3rd is to talk with someone who can help you your family, friends or specialist that will help your depression. Serlite 528 #11 Posted June 17, 2017 Being around happy people can help distract you from depression, but you need to make sure you're in the company of people who actually understand how depression works. A lot of times, people don't understand that battling depression is more than just "not thinking depressing thoughts". Severe depression is practically paralyzing - like the will to live is drained out of you - making it impossible to engage in activities to distract yourself or sometimes even function as a normal human being. As a result, it's not always feasible for people to treat their own depression by just trying to fill their minds with "happy thoughts". Counseling, and sometimes drugs (yes, there's a stigma against them, but sometimes you need to address chemical imbalances in order for other parts of treatment to work) are important to consider. There are lots of different factors involved in finding the right treatment though - for example, Seasonal Affective Disorder can be treated cheaply just by using a sunlight-imitating light source for a few hours each day. 2 bloomy and Edward reacted to this
Edward 426 #12 Posted June 23, 2017 Whatever you do don't get hooked on those anti depressant meds too young. They're medicine handcuffs and end up becoming redundant as time goes by. 2 JstLikeMagyk and Betwrong reacted to this

Bes19 202 #19 Posted July 8, 2017 It's hard to cope up with depression. It's actually a long treatment. It's easy to say "Stay positive" but when you're depressed, all you can think about is loneliness like you wanna be alone and no one loves you. I suggest Stay around with people who truly loves you coz they are the only people who can help you. If you're feeling down, just look at the sky and think of happy thoughts or your happy childhood memories. Don't ever take anti-depressant meds coz it won't help you but instead it will just trigger your depression in a long run.

Don't remain idle. I believe depression can be cured with good outing. Cheers

ravenyvolle 583 #23 Posted October 2, 2017 Surround yourself with your loved ones or happy people. Actually, sharing about your problems to others is a great help. When i was depressed before, I also thought of committing suicide, but then, good thing when I was about to drink the "pills", it happened that my mother called me and I just cried it all out to her. I told her my problem and it is really good to feel loved, had some sessions and now I love my life.:) Be happy always, being sad or depressed is not worth it. Move on if something not good happend. anbushinta 25 #25 Posted October 2, 2017 i agree that depression is really hard to cope up with. first thing you do is that you need a divine providence that will help you guide to positive things in life and you need someone to talk to. to tell what you feel inside and just let it out of your chest.
