you focus on what you HAVE vs. what you DON'T have.

you focus on your STRENGTHS not your WEAknesses.

you occupy your time with things you enjoy, cooking, reading, exercising, spending time with family etc.

you remind yourself that you're STRONGER than how you FEEL.

you remind yourself that EVERYone feels like this at times, and no matter what the reason, you're equipped to mentally handle whatever hand your dealt, and that eventually, whatever you endure, will be a memory that made you stronger and wiser.

I suffered from depression and this is my advice.

-make yourself busy. anything that can make yourself busy games, handicrafts, reading books, anything!

-do anything that you want! this is better than killing yourself.

-appreciate even the simplest thing you have

First pray that God will help you on your problem. Second think about your family & the other things that might uplift your mind & your desire to live. 3rd is to talk with someone who can help you your family, friends or specialist that will help your depression.

Being around happy people can help distract you from depression, but you need to make sure you're in the company of people who actually understand how depression works. A lot of times, people don't understand that battling depression is more than just "not thinking depressing thoughts". Severe depression is practically paralyzing - like the will to live is drained out of you - making it impossible to engage in activities to distract yourself or sometimes even function as a normal human being.

As a result, it's not always feasible for people to treat their own depression by just trying to fill their minds with "happy thoughts". Counseling, and sometimes drugs (yes, there's a stigma against them, but sometimes you need to address chemical imbalances in order for other parts of treatment to work) are important to consider. There are lots of different factors involved in finding the right treatment though - for example, Seasonal Affective Disorder can be treated cheaply just by using a sunlight-imitating light source for a few hours each day.

depression is one of the hardest to deal with...its like the end of the world for the victim.again its easier said than done,it takes a long way to deal with it for me maybe focus on acceptance...if can really accept the main reason of ure depression then u can continue.but trust me its a long way run.to admit and face reality.

The best solution is to keeping Praying.  Ask God for proper guidance and help you to cope up with your problems..  Nothing is impossible with him, just pray and wait until he gives it to you.. God bless. ☺

It's hard to cope up with depression. It's actually a long treatment.  It's easy to say "Stay positive" but when you're depressed, all you can think about is loneliness like you wanna be alone and no one loves you. I suggest Stay around with people who truly loves you coz they are the only people who can help you. If you're feeling down, just look at the sky and think of happy thoughts or your happy childhood memories. Don't ever take anti-depressant meds coz it won't help you but instead it will just trigger your depression in a long run.

In addition to what is above, I would suggest you always keep yourself busy... don't be lonely, stop thinking too much, make friends and go out sometimes. Don't remain idle. I believe depression can be cured with good outing. Cheers

Surround yourself with your loved ones or happy people. Actually, sharing about your problems to others is a great help.

When i was depressed before, I also thought of committing suicide, but then, good thing when I was about to drink the "pills", it happened that my mother called me and I just cried it all out to her. I told her my problem and it is really good to feel loved, had some sessions and now I love my life.:)

Be happy always, being sad or depressed is not worth it.

Move on if something not good happend.

i agree that depression is really hard to cope up with. first thing you do is that you need a divine providence that will help you guide to positive things in life and you need someone to talk to. to tell what you feel inside and just let it out of your chest.
