Walk of Fame: The Godfather

This week, we are moving to the big screens.
The Godfather (1972) is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential films ever made, particularly in the gangster genre.
At the 45th Academy Awards, it won three Oscars for Best Picture, Best Actor (Brando) and Best Adapted Screenplay (for Puzo and Coppola) and had seven other nominations.
The Godfather also won a record of five Golden Globes, which was not surpassed until 2017.

Around the Globe: Ukraine⚖

On this week's trip around the world, we are visitig Ukraine, the largest country in Europe excluding Russia, with a vide variety of things to offer to its visitors
The country boasts with some of the most hospitable people in Europe, rich culture as well as wonderful ladscapes including the Black See coastline, the Carpathian mountains, amazing contryside and the cobblestone streets of old city centers. It is also a home to seven World Heritage Sites.
The monument depicted in the picture is Mother Motherland, a suitably imposing 62 metres tall statue, which was built in the 1970s in the capital city of Kiev. Its fire pit is supposed to hold an eternal flame, but it only burns on the biggest national holidays.
When talking about Ukraine, we cannot leave without mentioning Chernobyl, the site of the world’s worst nuclear power plant disaster. Today, the abandoned area has become a tourist spot, open for the public, where you can have an incredibly moving experince, which will stay with you long after you leave.
