Kargai got a reaction from SEMPAXs in IBM Launches Stellar-Based Blockchain Payments Platform
IBM has launched a blockchain-based financial solution that it says has the potential to completely upend the existing status quo in global payments and remittances.
How it will work ? The financial institutions, via an API, will be able to use any digital asset they'll want (a central bank digital currency, crypto or stablecoin) as a bridge between two fiat currencies. All transactions will be store on the Stellar blockchain. The goal is to have faster payment processing, simultaneous clearing and settlement, reduced time to dispute resolution and reconciliation and substantially lower clearing costs.

What is great is the fact that this blockchain (called IBM Blockchain World Wire) is not based on Ethereum or any usual ones but on Stellar. This one have a great potential for the next years.

Kargai got a reaction from SEMPAXs in Thailand is becoming a critical country for blockchain
In this article the author expose how and why Thailand as emerged as a great country for cryptos, they even plan to launch their own central bank digital currency soon.
Since the beginning of the year the government set up licences for cryptocurrency company that allow exchanges and ICO to be launch. And they also publish some clear guidelines for foreign blockchain companies to operate. That's a good way to attract external project in Thailand.
Plus they legalized seven cryptocurrencies (BTC, ETH, ETC, Stellar, LTC, ...) ni june and permitted additional digital token issuers to file for applications in july. They are moving way more quickly than most of the western countries.
And the povement will not stop soon : Bithumb (second world exchange) plan to open some offices there, IBM plan to make a 5 year $140 million engagement to build out digital banking, including blockchain technology, etc.

Thailand is usually not one of the first asian countries you will think when it come to blockchain tech, Japan, China or South Korea will come before that ... but it could change in few months/years

If they don't realize how shameful it is to beg few cents (or less) in a chat at the first place, they will probably don't realize it neither here on forum.

Kargai reacted to UchihaRaj in Bitfi Gives Up On Claim Wallet Is 'Unhackable'
The word unhackable is just more of a delusion now. If there are poison , there are always antidotes for it . And it's quite humorous to know that those antidotes have origins from the poison itself. As long as there are people , who take the security to the next level , there will be hackers taking their skills to the next level too. it's more of like they go hand in hand. I wonder if the one hacking them would have been one of their team members. The more you know about it , the more it helps in the business.
Rest is left on McAfee to accept his defeat soon . Sooner or later , He would have to. Time defeats all. There is no one denying it.

That was one of the crypto summer story. For those who didn't follow the movie all startedback in june when Bitfi (in a partnership with John McAfee) claimed to be the first open source and unhackable wallet. They even offer a bounty of 100.000$ if someone was able to hack their wallet.
And it was quickly hacked ... but Bitfi didn't want to recognize it and start to claim the hack was not actually a real one, turning around the pot for not paying the bounty, than raising the bounty to 250.000$ in case of real hack, etc. In short they tried to drown the fish.
But finally few days ago, after multiple security breaches, Bitfi has closed its bounty offer and has ceased claiming its wallet is “unhackable”.
    Source : https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-45368044
The story could end here but McAfee is not the type of guy to let it go, not only he's claiming the wallet is still unhackable ... but he even offer a bounty of 20 millions $ to the one who will hack it. Which make any sense ofc since the company already recognize it was done ... aahhh McAfee ...  💊 + 🍾 + 🍄 = 🦄

Kargai got a reaction from SEMPAXs in Google Releases Public Dataset for Ethereum Blockchain Analytics
Google BigQuery is a service that enables interactive analysis of massively large datasets. And they recently announced that they made a public dataset for smart contract analytics based on the Ethereum blockchain.

    Their goal is to improve the analytic tools currently available to businesses and investors, because even if Ethereum already provide some tools ... they are not very easy or friendly to use ;
So making them available directly on Google Cloud will help. But what kind of things can we do with all that ?
For example you can ask what is the most used ETH smart contract, or what are the 10 most popular Ethereum collectibles (ERC-721 contracts), by number of transactions? (spoiler alert for this one : it's Cryptokitties)

You can also see the different token’s transaction activities. So for example  if you want to know which are the ERC-20 most active tokens in transactions & co it's BNB (Binance), Vechain (VEN) and OmiseGo (OMG).
More technical stuff & explanations can be find here : https://cloud.google.com/blog/products/data-analytics/ethereum-bigquery-public-dataset-smart-contract-analytics

I like when blockchain technology is use to improve things related to health, hospital & co so my eye was caught by this news and i'm sharing it with you.
Taipei Medical University Hospital just recently announced the launching of a blockchain-based healthcare platform. More than 100 community-based clinics in Taipei will contribute to the project.
Usually a problem of the actual system is the quick access to all the files of a patient including the physician referral process, transfer of data between medical institutions and personal patient portals. That take time to bring all together when needed. So their plan is to put everything in one single place and with a better security : in a blockchain.

I really like it, it's a very concrete application of a blockchain. But they are not the first to think about it, if you like those kind of things you can take a look at MedicalChain, a great project too : https://medicalchain.com/en/

Pleasure @SEMPAXs and yes blockchain will be use for a very large range of things in the future. All the Internet will use blockchain, same as most of the private network, artificial intelligence, etc
We are basically just at the beginning of the mass adoption so the technology itself will be here for a long time. 2018 is like 1996 for Internet but for blockchain

Like you said this is not possible due to the use of VPNs. Someone who create Alts will make the VPN IP blocked and will move to another one. At the end of the day we will end up blocking most of the VPN and the ones who will suffer the most of that are "legit" users. Some of the people who create alts are doing them automatically by dozens in few minutes/hours. So no limitation number will do the trick anyway.

That's a pretty big statement right ? But that's the point of view of a Youtube channel who is going by the name of Digital Asset Investor.
Keep in mind that this guy is "sold" to Ripple (XRP), he's making a lot of lobbying in his vids about this coin. But he's also someone who like to dig into news and research more deeply that what he read in the news. We will only know if he wa right in the coming years but anyway there is some nice pieces of informations in all his videos and he's not shy to be bold.
Watch it for yourself and made up your mind about it

Kargai got a reaction from SEMPAXs in Deloitte Publishes Report About Major Blockchain Trends
Recently Deloitte (who provides audit, tax, consulting, enterprise risk and financial advisory services) published a "2018 Global Blockchain Survey" about the current state of the blockchain technology.

They state that blockchains are now practical applications, top-level technology have started to implement blockchain solutions and it's not "project" anymore. It's concrete and it will change a lot of businesses in the near future, new businesses adopting to blockchains faster than traditional ones.
The Deloitte research suggests that 74% of businesses can imagine a scenario where blockchains are applicable to their use cases, which suggests a heightened understanding of blockchain technology.
For them the security is the main point of the technology and if everything seem promising they also realize that there is a lot of marketing and hyp around crypto who could hurt the technology if there is too much people to follow the trendy stuff instead of the concrete work.

Bitmain-backed mining pool BTC.com is expanding and allow users to switch where they want to use their hashing power. Users can choose between mining BTC or Ethereum and Ethereum Classic (both are supported).
BTC.com is not a small player in the mining field since they mined 21% of all the bitcoins last year. They will allow users of their portal (pool.btc.com) not only to choose which coin they want to mine but they will also add everything needed like a Ethereum blockchain explorer & Co.
Plus they will allow you to mine with GPU and/or CPU according to your preference. And if everything work according to their plans they could also add more coins in the list.

With their mining power (and depending on the number of user who will use it) it could be a decent news for ETH and ETC in the coming weeks/months

Kargai got a reaction from Tintin in Ethereum Transaction Fees Are Up Because of Ongoing Network Spamming
if you are wondering why the fee for the verification of an Ethereum transaction increased lately it could be because there is a spam attack on the ETH blockchain. Which mean a congestion in all the processed transactions, which mean an increase of the fee for each one of them.
In fact one single smart contract on the blockchain consume 35% of the total gas of the day. And it seem difficult for now to find the real reason behind it according to Cryptovest.
"Hypotheses surrounding the seemingly meaningless transactions have included someone deliberately paying to congest the network, or someone running tests for a future event. In any case, even the spammer has paid exorbitant transaction fees in ETH. Suspicions of a rival scam were resurrected"
