Kargai got a reaction from Coolandy55 in A world without money
I agree about the fact lots of things would improve without money : less stress, less jealousy, more "real" interactions (i will do that for you and you give me that), more people will do a work they are good and love to do instead of a paycheck one, less ressources will be used to make the money people need to buy ressources, things will be less global and more local, ...
But I don't believe it will stop war & co. The monetary reason will just be replace by something else like to have the power over others. This is inherent to humans, they want to be better/stronger than others. Wars and fights existed way before money.
Same with the family time. Back in the days people tend to go to work in the fields, mines, hunting or so on and spend all day long to work, seeing only their family few moments a day. That wasn't rare that mans where not with their family for days, weeks or months. Actually I believe we can spend more time with our family nowadays ... but we spend that time in devices (smartphones, computers, television, ...), going out with friends, ... instead of being present with our relatives (back in the days they don't have a lot to do except staying home with the fam). So it's mostly a choice people don't make today, in most of the countries the number of hours you can work a week is limited, in early ages you worked as much as you can.

As we know (or not) Shapeshift had to change their business model recently, it was an place where you bought cryptos without revealing your identity but they had to compell with the law and are now asking a full KYC registration which kill the best part of the service.
But they are not the only one on the field and there is still few options if you want to enjoy the "anonymous" way of life to buy BTC.

Some are already weel known like Changelly or Coinswitch, some will have their spotlight time with the "death" of Shapeshift (like Flyp.me or Changenow). And this list only provide 4 sites but there is more than that (Metamorph Pro, Faa.st, ..)

Did you alreadu use of those 4 services ? If it's the case what do you think about it ?

    Hey ho!
I will tell you about my story about stop smoking. Maybe it will inspire you to stop or give you the right motivation to follow my example.
Why did I want to stop smoking?
Well. Not only the growing pressure from society and my missing money was reason enough to stop with this "bad habit". First of all was my healthstatus. Coughing.. slime in my throat. My gums in a bad shape and of course the teeth. Also the risk of (particularly lung cancer) cancer hovering above me.
You could say that people smoke and get over 100 years old. Yeah, things like that happen. But the fact remains, that the health problems outgrow those "good news" for smoker. For me I didn't want to put it on risk anymore.
Therefore I set a date to stop.
    What was the hard part?
The fear. Having the fear that I would miss cigarettes. Miss the occasions of being around other ones (smokers) and that I don't know how to fill up these gaps of time. To sum it up... its more a psychological thing to stop than physically.
So when the moment came, I was nervous and unsure if I could do it. But I smoked the last cigarette and threw the tobacco into the bin somewhere outside (out of reach :D). I gotta say.. I had some tough days at that time. Having a small surgery and being not at home and so on.
There were often thoughts of "god dammit. Just smoke, whatever". But I stayed strong. I still do. I'm through with it for 4 months and 15 days.
    How bad are the cravings?
I gotta say.. it depends. I bet that someone who use to smoke two packs a day will have a harder time than someone who only kills 5 cigs a day.
As mentioned before, the cravings were strong. Particularly the first two weeks. Over time it got easier to withstand them. You find easy routines and tricks to manage that. Somewhen you stop thinking about having a smoke.
But after four months.. -  not gonna lie here - I still have cravings. And they're strong and I wanted to give in some times now. I didn't. I know that will get better and its just a phase, mom! But to be honest.. it fills me a little with fear, that the cravings never will let off me. And I guess this is the bitter truth. Its an addiction.
    What changed after stopping?
    A lot:
No coughing No slime in throat Better breathing Heart goes more easy Blood pressure went down Taste got slightly better Boom. More than enough reason to stop. Just imagine that this things going bad, when you consume cigarettes and nicotine.
    What helped me stopping?
For some.. the book from Allen Carr's easy way to stop smoking. Very easily. I did it once and it worked veyr good.. but I had one cigarette one time and ruined it.
The second time.. it didn't really help.. But I stumbled upon this reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/stopsmoking/
    And the app:
    Google Playstore: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.portablepixels.smokefree&hl=en
    Apple Appstore: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/smoke-free-quit-smoking-now/id577767592?ls=1&mt=8
I still use the app and the reddit. Especially when I get weak or to exchange knowledge and experience and help others to stop.

I hope I could give some insight about stopping and why you should. There is no benefit in smoking, believe me. I live a better life without cigarettes. I'm open for discussion and questions.. just shoot them at me :)!

At least that's what said the World Economic Forum in a recent report. Even if they noticed the inefficiencies in proof-of-work blockchains they also saw some positive potential impact on the environment.
According to PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC, who conducted the study) there is an opening "for fresh ideas to harness this nascent technology to help deliver big gains for our environment... Blockchain could "create a sustainability revolution." "
They focused their attention on 6 key areas like climate change, healthy oceans, water security, clean air, etc.
But they realize that some  of the actuals Proof-of-Work blockchains can hurt that progress if they don't turn to a Proof-of-Stake or Chia protocol. They will continue to explore and develop that first study in the near future.
The full study can be read here :https://www.pwc.com/gx/en/sustainability/assets/blockchain-for-a-better-planet.pdf

If you're talking about pre-rolling, there's a combination of settings to enable that. Set your multiplier to 1 (so that your bet doesn't change), set your multiplier mode to change once. Then for the setting "after x bets, time multiplier by y", set x to number of prerolls you want to do, and y to what you want your multiplier to be after pre-rolling.

Then you can set it to multiply after every z losses in a row, in stead of every loss (bottomish of the multiply on loss box). You just need to ensure that your settings match. For example if you change your multiplier to 2 after 99 bets, but multiply after every 49 bets, your bet is only going to be multiplied after a total of (49*3) bets. (after at 49 bets, multiply by 1, after 98 total bets, multiply by 1, after 99 total bets, multiplier is changed to 2, after 137 total bets, multiply by 2). You can also look at the setting "after a losses, change bet to b"

That's the reason why he wanted to create an application using smart contract technology via the Ethereum blockchain. He created FOAM : https://foam.space/.

FOAM's solution is to spread the work of cartography among a diffuse network of individual users, who register locations on the FOAM map using a cryptographic technique called proof of location. FOAM is targeting several use cases, from games to supply chain management.

The users will be rewarded in FOAM tokens to motivete them to use the dApp and people will trade those tokens to reward, challenge and vote the accuracy of the newly registered locations.

I know we have lot of pinoys and pinays on this forum so the news could interest some of you
Actually the Philippines Peso (PHP) is facing a high inflation rate which (6.4%) with an exchange rate of 1 PHP = $0.019. Which lead philipinos to exchange some of their FIAT money to cryptos. In fact in august the average sum was around 500.000$ traded between both each week.
That could be explain because PH government seem pretty open and positive about cryptos in general, they recently approved 2 applications for new crypto exchanges, and soon they will release draft rules to help govern cryptocurrency exchanges. The biggest bank (UnionBank) plan to get involve in mining operation, etc.

Since the beginning of the year the government set up licences for cryptocurrency company that allow exchanges and ICO to be launch. And they also publish some clear guidelines for foreign blockchain companies to operate. That's a good way to attract external project in Thailand.
Plus they legalized seven cryptocurrencies (BTC, ETH, ETC, Stellar, LTC, ...) ni june and permitted additional digital token issuers to file for applications in july. They are moving way more quickly than most of the western countries.
And the povement will not stop soon : Bithumb (second world exchange) plan to open some offices there, IBM plan to make a 5 year $140 million engagement to build out digital banking, including blockchain technology, etc.

The word unhackable is just more of a delusion now. If there are poison , there are always antidotes for it . And it's quite humorous to know that those antidotes have origins from the poison itself. As long as there are people , who take the security to the next level , there will be hackers taking their skills to the next level too. it's more of like they go hand in hand. I wonder if the one hacking them would have been one of their team members. The more you know about it , the more it helps in the business.
Rest is left on McAfee to accept his defeat soon . Sooner or later , He would have to. Time defeats all. There is no one denying it.

That was one of the crypto summer story. For those who didn't follow the movie all startedback in june when Bitfi (in a partnership with John McAfee) claimed to be the first open source and unhackable wallet. They even offer a bounty of 100.000$ if someone was able to hack their wallet.
And it was quickly hacked ... but Bitfi didn't want to recognize it and start to claim the hack was not actually a real one, turning around the pot for not paying the bounty, than raising the bounty to 250.000$ in case of real hack, etc. In short they tried to drown the fish.
But finally few days ago, after multiple security breaches, Bitfi has closed its bounty offer and has ceased claiming its wallet is “unhackable”.

The story could end here but McAfee is not the type of guy to let it go, not only he's claiming the wallet is still unhackable ... but he even offer a bounty of 20 millions $ to the one who will hack it. Which make any sense ofc since the company already recognize it was done ... aahhh McAfee ...  💊 + 🍾 + 🍄 = 🦄

Google BigQuery is a service that enables interactive analysis of massively large datasets. And they recently announced that they made a public dataset for smart contract analytics based on the Ethereum blockchain.

    Their goal is to improve the analytic tools currently available to businesses and investors, because even if Ethereum already provide some tools ... they are not very easy or friendly to use ;
So making them available directly on Google Cloud will help. But what kind of things can we do with all that ?
For example you can ask what is the most used ETH smart contract, or what are the 10 most popular Ethereum collectibles (ERC-721 contracts), by number of transactions? (spoiler alert for this one : it's Cryptokitties)

You can also see the different token’s transaction activities. So for example  if you want to know which are the ERC-20 most active tokens in transactions & co it's BNB (Binance), Vechain (VEN) and OmiseGo (OMG).
